Thanks to the generous
donations of our family and friends, we were
able to take part in raising money last year for the Lance
Armstrong Foundation's fight against cancer.
The three LiveStrong Challenge rides raised a
total of nearly $9 million!!!
Participating in 2007 had such a
profound impact on us, that we can't wait for this year's
ride! To catch a glimpse of what we
experienced, you can check out our 2007 page
here. |
|
The more we learn about the Lance Armstrong
Foundation and what they do in the fight against
cancer, the more impressed we are! You can
check out their web site
here.
We have links to our donation pages below, but
first, read the following account from last
year. It really puts the ride in
perspective and expresses better than we can,
just why we are participating, and are asking
for your help. |

In spite of the nasty weather, at various places
along the route, you would see "well wishers"
cheering you on. Many of them had noise
makers or simply clapped and cheered and you
passed by. There is one image permanently fixed in my mind. At one
lonely intersection of two country roads, there
was a young woman standing in the rain, her hair
totally soaked and dripping. She
cheered and called out words of encouragement as
we passed. The sign she held said simply:
"In memory of my DAD." Without a word to
each other, we just naturally started pedaling a
little bit faster. She reminded us what
the ride was all about!
Will you consider partnering with us
this year? |
