Tandem Recumbent Bikes For Sale

This website was not originally designed to be a place of commerce, just a fun and informative celebration of our hobby, riding our tandem recumbent bike.  However, because of the number of people who now view this site from around the world, we do from time to time get requests from those selling, and wanting to buy bikes like ours.  In keeping with our goal of promoting tandem recumbents, it seemed appropriate to offer a place to connect buyers and sellers.   We do have a few basic ground rules for this page:

1)  We will only list tandem recumbent bikes, since that is the focus of our site.
2)  Bikes are "for sale by owner."  Any information about bikes displayed on our site is provided by the seller.  We are in no way endorsing a particular bike, or making any guarantees as to the accuracy of the information given to us.
3)  The decision to display, or to remove any listing is up to the sole discretion of us at TandemRide.com.
4)  If you would like to place an ad, email your info to:  Jeff@TandemRide.com.

Our suggestion for buying and selling
Whenever two strangers enter into any sort of sales agreement, both are usually concerned that they are getting a fair and honest exchange.  This is of even more concern when the purchase is made online where perhaps thousands of miles separate the buyer and seller.  In order to protect both parties we suggest the following arrangement.  We encourage the buyer to contact a local bicycle shop in his town and see if they would be willing to serve as an intermediary.  It would be preferable to choose a shop that has experience with recumbent bikes, if there is one nearby the buyer.  We naturally assume that they would be paid a reasonable fee for their efforts.  The buyer would deposit the agreed upon sale price with the bike shop.  The seller would then ship the bike to that shop.  Upon arrival, the shop would give the bike a basic tune-up and turn it over to the buyer.  They would also forward the purchase price to the seller.  By dealing with an established "brick and mortar" local business, both the buyer and seller should feel safer about the transaction.  It will also help support your local community bike shop!
